Mohamed Salah takes to social media after Liverpool FC's 3-1 loss to Real Madrid in the Champions League final
Mohamed Salah has taken to social media to insist that he will come back stronger after the disappointment of Liverpool FC’s 3-1 loss to Real Madrid in the Champions League final on Saturday.
The Reds slumped to a disappointing loss to the Spanish side as the La Liga outfit won the competition for the third season running thanks to victory over Jurgen Klopp’s men in Kiev.
Salah’s night was cut short in Kiev after he suffered a serious shoulder injury in the first half of the game and had to be substituted.
Liverpool FC goalkeeper made two high-profile errors as two goals from substitute Gareth Bale followed Karim Benzema’s opener to hand Zinedine Zidane’s victory despite Sadio Mane’s equaliser.
It was a hugely disappointing end to the season for Salah, who has been one of European football’s top performers this term, scoring 44 goals in all competitions for the Reds.
And Salah took to Twitter on Sunday to send a message to Liverpool FC fans after the disappointment of how Saturday night’s game unfolded for him.
Salah wrote on Twitter: “It was a very tough night, but I’m a fighter. Despite the odds, I’m confident that I’ll be in Russia to make you all proud. Your love and support will give me the strength I need.”
Liverpool FC’s loss means that they are still searching for their first trophy under Klopp since his appointment back in October 2015.
