Jurgen Klopp has lavished praise on Trent Alexander-Arnold following his sparkling form for Liverpool FC this season.

The 19-year-old has been earning plenty of praise for his strong performances for the Reds this term after having broken into the first team under Klopp at Anfield.

The right-back has made a total of 29 appearances in all competitions for Klopp’s men and he has earned plenty of new admirers for his mature displays in a Liverpool FC shirt.

The defender’s fine form has inevitably prompted talk of Alexander-Arnold being included in the England squad for this summer’s World Cup in Russia.

And Klopp has admitted that he has been delighted by Alexander-Arnold’s displays for the Reds this season.

Speaking at a news conference at Melwood last week, Klopp said: “I’m obviously a fan of Trent, that’s why he played pretty often – not because of that, because he performed on a really high level,” the Reds boss said.

“[He has] matured quickly over the last year. Mentally, he was always in a good place, physically he needed to improve [and] he did.”

Liverpool FC are currently preparing for their final Premier League game of the season and a home clash against Brighton at Anfield.

The Reds will secure their spot in the top four this season as long as they avoid defeat against the Seagulls in front of their home fans.

Liverpool FC will then switch their focus towards their crunch Champions League final clash with Real Madrid in Kiev at the end of the month.
