The Reds have been earning plenty of praise for their performances under Jurgen Klopp this season and they booked their place in the Champions League final last week with a victory over AS Roma in the semi-finals.
Liverpool FC will now take on Real Madrid in the final in Kiev later this month as they look to win their first trophy under Klopp.
The likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino have been earning huge amounts of praise for their strong attacking performances for Liverpool FC in recent weeks.
However, former Liverpool FC midfielder believes that some of the club’s defensive players also deserve special praise for their good displays in the last few months.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Redknapp said: “As well as the brilliance of Salah in attack, for me, there’s no way Liverpool would be in this healthy position if they hadn’t signed Virgil van Dijk.
“Loris Karius, and the rest of the defence look better players with him alongside them. He’s been amazing and a great influence on that backline.
“Hopefully he can give them some more stability and assurance next season, when the target has to be aiming for the Premier League title.”
Liverpool FC are currently preparing for their Premier League trip to Chelsea FC on Sunday afternoon as they look to try and end the campaign on a high by securing a top-four finish.
Klopp’s men are currently in third place in the Premier League table as they look to finish as highly as possible in the top flight in the German coach’s second full season in charge at the club.
