Liverpool FC are set to take FC Barcelona defender Yerry Mina on loan next season, according to reports in Spain.

Spanish TV programme El Chiringuito, as quoted by the Daily Star, is reporting that the Reds have already struck an agreement to sign the 23-year-old defender on a temporary deal for the whole of next season.

Mina joined FC Barcelona from Brazilian outfit Palmeiras back in January but he has been limited to just five appearances in all competitions for the La Liga side.

The Colombian is now widely tipped to leave Camp Nou at the end of the season as FC Barcelona look to give him some regular playing time.

And according to the latest reports in Spain, Liverpool FC looks set to be his most likely destination.

Liverpool FC spent big on bolstering their defensive options in the January transfer window as they paid £75m to sign Virgil van Dijk from Southampton.

And the Reds could well be on the lookout for defensive reinforcements this summer as Jurgen Klopp looks to assemble a team capable of challenging for the Premier League title next season.

Liverpool FC are currently preparing for their final Premier League game of the season – a home clash against Brighton at Anfield.
