Paul Ince names one advantage Liverpool FC have over Real Madrid
The Liverpool FC legend believes the Reds have one clear advantage over Real Madrid ahead of the Champions League final on Saturday evening
Paul Ince believes Liverpool FC’s lack of egos could work to their advantage against a star-laden Real Madrid side in the Champions League final on Saturday evening.
The Reds will take on the Spanish giants in the European Cup showpiece as Liverpool FC look to complete what has been a remarkable season for Jurgen Klopp and his squad.
Liverpool FC have scored 17 goals in victories over FC Porto, Manchester City and AS Roma in the Champions League knockout stage to reach the Kiev final.
However, Real Madrid are looking to win the competition for the third consecutive season and los Blancos have got their hands on the trophy in three of the past four seasons.
Zinedine Zidane can call upon attacking talents such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Isco, while los Blancos have big names such as Sergio Ramos, Marcelo and Toni Kroos.
Liverpool FC have no real super stars in their team, although Mohamed Salah has been a sensation in the 2017-18 season.
Former Reds captain Ince believes the lack of egos in Liverpool FC’s team could work to their advantage in Kiev on Saturday night.
“One thing that might benefit Liverpool is that there are no egos in the team, too,” Ince told Paddy Power.
“As much as Salah is outstanding, he’s not full of himself and he brings a balance to the team.
“When you look at Real Madrid, there’s Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, Sergio Ramos and Karim Benzema. If things aren’t going well, they will throw their toys out of the pram.
“If things aren’t going well for the Reds, I’m confident they will have the fighting spirit and will play as a team rather than individuals.”
Liverpool FC were 1-0 winners against Real Madrid in the European Cup final in 1981.
