Michael Owen is backing Liverpool FC to beat Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Kiev on Saturday evening.
The Reds face the daunting task of taking on 12-time winners Real Madrid in the European showpiece in pursuit of a first Champions League title since 2005.
Liverpool FC have scored 46 goals in 14 games in the Champions League this season after the Reds were 6-4 aggregate winners against Bundesliga side Hoffenheim in the playoff round.
The 18-time English champions finished first place in Group E this season with 12 points ahead of Spanish side Sevilla, Russian outfit Spartak Moscow and Slovenian minnows Maribor.
Liverpool FC were 5-0 winners against Portuguese outfit FC Porto in the round of 16 before an impressive 5-1 aggregate victory over Premier League champions Manchester City in the quarter-final.
Jurgen Klopp’s side came out on top in the Champions League semi-final thanks to a thrilling 7-6 aggregate winners against Serie A side AS Roma.
Former Liverpool FC striker Owen is backing the Reds to finish off an incredible campaign with success over Real Madrid in the Champions League final on Saturday evening.
“If there is an early goal, I honestly believe it could be any score,” Owen told BetVictor.
“My head says Real Madrid but my heart says Liverpool.
“On this occasion, the heart rules the head – 2-1 to the Reds.”
Liverpool FC finished in the Premier League’s top four thanks to a 4-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion on the final day of the 2017-18 Premier League season.
