Pat Nevin admits he has an inkling that Liverpool FC will beat Real Madrid in the Champions League final.
The Reds will take on La Liga giants Real Madrid in the Champions League showpiece in Kiev next weekend after an impressive run in Europe’s top tier competition in the 2017-18 season.
Liverpool FC eased to a 5-0 aggregate win against Portuguese giants FC Porto in the round of 16 before the Reds secured a 5-1 aggregate victory over Premier League champions Manchester City.
The Merseyside outfit appeared to have one foot in the Champions League final following a resounding 5-2 victory over Serie A giants AS Roma in the first leg of their last-four clash at Anfield.
Liverpool FC lost 4-1 to the Italian club in the second leg to secure a place in the Champions League final against current holders Real Madrid.
Former Chelsea FC winger Nevin is backing Liverpool FC to beat Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Kiev next weekend.
“I know out loud you have to say Real Madrid are favourites,” Nevin told Irish radio station Newstalk.
“But are they really when you watch them every week? Liverpool’s fantastic fearlessness has been a joy.”
Liverpool FC haven’t won the Champions League title since 2005 when the Reds beat AC Milan on penalties in Istanbul.
The Reds lost 2-1 to the Italian side in the Champions League final in 2007 before a 3-1 loss to Sevilla in the Europa League showpiece in 2016.
