Graeme Souness has warned Liverpool FC that it is time for them to back up their solid performances with a trophy.

The Reds have been in fine form this season and have been earning huge amounts of praise for their strong displays under Jurgen Klopp as they secured a top-four finish in the Premier League.

Liverpool FC have also been in fine form in the Champions League and they will take on Real Madrid in the final in Kiev on Saturday 26 May.

The Reds are still aiming to win their first trophy since Klopp’s appointment at Anfield in the autumn of 2015.

And for all of the praise that has headed Liverpool FC’s way for their fine displays, Souness has talked up the importance of the Reds backing up their fine displays with some silverware.

Speaking to Sky Sports on Sunday, Souness said: “They’ve been fabulous.

“They play a brand of football which gets you on the edge of your seat. They score goals. It’s just very exciting.

“But they’ve got to get some silverware on the table or they’ll be remembered as great entertainers who won nothing.

“They’ve got a great opportunity to do that in a couple of weeks in the biggest one of all outside the Premier League.”

Liverpool FC booked their place in the Champions League next season by finishing fourth in the Premier League this term.

The Reds sealed an impressive 4-0 win against Brighton and Hove Albion in front of their home fans as they ended the top flight season in style at Anfield.

Klopp’s men now have 12 days to prepare for the Champions League final against Real Madrid.
