Liverpool FC are set to open talks with Lyon about signing Nabil Fekir this summer, according to reports in France.

French newspaper L’Equipe, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo, is reporting that the Reds are keen to conclude a deal to bring the 24-year-old France international to Anfield this summer.

The same story says that Liverpool FC are set to hold talks with Lyon about a possible deal this week, despite the player’s recent comments distancing himself from a move to Merseyside.

Fekir was in fine form for Lyon this season, as he scored 18 goals and made eight assists in 30 Ligue 1 games for the French club.

According to the same article, Liverpool FC are ready to spend big this summer by bringing in a number of new players ahead of next season.

The Reds are already poised to add midfielder Naby Keita to their squad following the agreement they reached with RB Leipzig last summer.

Liverpool FC ended the season without a trophy after they were beaten 3-1 by Real Madrid in the Champions League final on Saturday night.

The Merseyside outfit managed to finish fourth in the top flight to secure their spot in the Champions League for next season.
