John Aldridge believes Liverpool FC will need to spend £200m on new signings in the summer transfer window.

The Reds have enjoyed a successful first season under Jurgen Klopp following his appointment back in October 2015.

Liverpool FC booked their place in the Champions League final thanks to a 7-6 aggregate win against Italian giants AS Roma in the last four.

The Reds will face La Liga giants Real Madrid in the Champions League showpiece in Kiev later this month.

Liverpool FC are on course to finish in the Premier League top four but the Reds will need to beat Brighton and Hove Albion in their final top-flight fixture to secure a spot in next season’s Champions League.

However, Klopp is struggling to field a full strength team given the mounting injury problems at Anfield.

Former Liverpool FC star Aldridge believes the Reds need to add more quality players to their squad in the summer transfer window.

“What it shows is that we need to do some good business once again in the transfer window this summer,” Aldridge told the Liverpool Echo.

“There cannot be any messing about. We need four quality players, players worth £50million each. That’s £200m on new talent. We need the best we can get.”

Liverpool FC haven’t won the Premier League title but finished in second place in 2002, 2009 and 2014.

The Reds are looking to finish in the Premier League’s top four in successive seasons.

The Merseyside outfit haven’t won the Champions League since 2005 when the Reds beat AC Milan on penalties
