Jordan Henderson believes Liverpool FC will be active in the transfer market this summer as Jurgen Klopp looks to build a squad capable of challenging for the Premier League title.

The Reds finished in fourth place in successive seasons thanks to a commanding 4-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion in their final Premier League fixture of the season.

The Merseyside outfit haven’t won the Premier League title but finished in second place in 2002, 2009 and 2014.

Liverpool FC appear to be making strides under current manager Klopp after consecutive top-four finishes to secure their place in the Champions League.

The Reds will take on La Liga giants Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Kiev on Saturday evening in pursuit of a first European Cup title since 2005.

Liverpool FC captain Henderson is confident that the Merseyside outfit will bring in some new faces in the 2018 summer transfer window.

“I’m sure there will be new players coming in the summer as well, which they will be coming into a very good group of players, and hopefully they can strengthen us to win trophies,” Henderson told Liverpool FC’s website.

Liverpool FC will add Guinea international Naby Keita to their squad in the summer transfer window after agreeing a £48m deal with RB Leipzig in 2017.

The Reds signed Virgil van Dijk in a world record £75m deal for a defender in the January transfer window following months of speculation linking the Reds with the Southampton defender.
