Craig Bellamy believes Liverpool FC need one or two more signings to have a team capable of challenging for the Premier League title next term.
The Reds have made progress under Jurgen Klopp since the German head coach replaced Brendan Rodgers at the Anfield outfit in 2015.
Liverpool FC lost to Manchester City and Sevilla in the League Cup and Europa League finals in his first season at the Merseyside club.
However, the Reds have managed to secure a top-four finish in successive seasons ahead of Arsenal and Chelsea FC.
Liverpool FC reached the Champions League final before a 3-1 loss to Real Madrid thanks to victories over Portuguese head coach FC Porto, Premier League champions Manchester City and Serie A giants AS Roma.
Klopp’s men are being talked up as potential title challengers next term given their attacking prowess despite finishing 25 points behind Premier League champions Manchester City.
Former Liverpool FC striker Bellamy believes Klopp needs one or two signings in the summer transfer window to build a team capable of usurping Manchester City.
“You have to be optimistic about Liverpool next year,” Bellamy told Sky Sports. “They have one or two players coming in.
“They need one or two players more. There is every chance they can compete with Man City. They have the firepower.
“They have the manager in Jurgen Klopp. They are a serious threat.”
Liverpool FC signed Netherlands international Virgil van Dijk in the January transfer window in a £75m deal from Premier League rivals Southampton.
The Reds were 4-0 winners against Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League in their final domestic game of the 2017-18 campaign.
