Nabil Fekir replies to Liverpool FC transfer speculation
The Liverpool FC target replies to transfer speculation linking the playmaker with a move to the Anfield outfit
Nabil Fekir has refused to shed light on his future at Lyon amid reported interest from Liverpool FC in the attacker.
The Reds have emerged as contenders to sign the 24-year-old star in recent weeks after Fekir’s impressive performances in Ligue 1 this season.
The 24-year-old scored 18 goals and made seven assists in 29 appearances in the French top flight to help Lyon challenge for a second-placed finish.
Fekir netted three times and made one assist in eight Europa League fixtures this term to underline his ability to perform on the European stage.
Liverpool FC have transfer funds to spend on a new attacker after Philippe Coutinho moved to FC Barcelona in a £142m deal in the January transfer window.
According to reports in the media over the past week, Fekir has been in negotiations with Liverpool FC over a potential summer transfer.
However, the Lyon star refused to clarify his future when Fekir was challenged with the transfer reports.
“I do not think about this at all,” Fekir told France Football.
“As I said before, my only priority is to win this match against Nice. I am only thinking about this. After the match, we’ll see.”
Fekir has netted 57 times in 153 games in all competitions over the past five seasons since coming through the Lyon youth ranks.
Liverpool FC will take on Spanish giants Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Kiev later this month.
