Robert Pires has warned Lyon to expect Premier League interest in Nabil Fekir in the summer transfer window.

The France international has impressed in the 2017-18 Ligue 1 season to help Lyon secure second spot in the table with two games to go.

Fekir has scored 17 goals and has made seven assists in 28 games in Ligue 1 to attract interest from a number of top Premier League clubs.

Reports over the past week have linked Liverpool FC with a swoop to sign the 24-year-old attacker in the upcoming transfer window.

The Reds should have a significant transfer budget following Philippe Coutinho’s £142m move to FC Barcelona back in January.

Fekir is thought to be valued at around £62m but it remains to be seen whether Liverpool FC would be willing to make the Lyon star their second-most expensive signing of all-time.

When asked whether he believes Lyon will keep Fekir beyond the summer transfer window, Arsenal legend Pires told bwin:

“I think Lyon will receive offers from clubs across Europe for Nabil Fekir this summer. He has a lot of quality. He’s fast, he’s strong and he has a lot of quality.

“He has a profile that would fit the Premier League very well and I would be surprised if there weren’t attempts to sign him this year.

“Lyon have a fantastic academy and they are the best club for young players.”

Liverpool FC smashed their club record when the Reds signed Netherlands international Virgil van Dijk in a £75m deal from Southampton in the January transfer window.

The Merseyside outfit are in fourth place in the Premier League table and on course to finish in the Champions League spots.
