Liverpool FC have shortlisted Burnley’s James Tarkowski and Newcastle United’s Jamaal Lascelle as their two main central defensive targets in the summer transfer window, according to reports in the British media.
The Independent is reporting that the Reds are keen on both Tarkowski and Lascelle as Jurgen Klopp looks to bolster his defensive options at Anfield ahead of next season.
Liverpool FC have already recently spent big on a new defensive signing, with the Reds having landed Virgil van Dijk from Southampton in the January transfer window.
According to the same story, signing a new centre-half is a priority for the Reds as they look to try and assemble a squad capable of winning the Premier League next season.
The same article says that Liverpool FC are looking to make three to four new signings this summer, and a goalkeeper is also a position they are looking to strengthen.
Liverpool FC finished in fourth place in the Premier League this season to book their place in the Champions League for next season.
They are currently gearing up for their crunch Champions League final showdown against Real Madrid on Saturday.
