The Reds slumped to a disappointing 3-1 loss to the Spanish giants in Kiev on Saturday night as Real Madrid won the competition for the third year running.
It was a night to forget for Liverpool FC, with Loris Karius making two high-profile errors, and Mohamed Salah having come off with a shoulder injury in the first half.
Liverpool FC had earned plenty of praise for their performances on their way to reaching the final, with the Reds having beaten the likes of Manchester City and AS Roma en route to the final.
And Liverpool FC captain Gerrard was full of praise for how Klopp managed to get the best out of his team, despite the disappointing result in the final.
Speaking to BT Sport after the game, Gerrard said: “He did everything right. The manager prepared his team well throughout the campaign and he set them up really well from the off.
“Tactically they were very good, they looked dangerous and full of energy.
“He lost his best player, who’s been phenomenal all season. That goes against him, and then for the goalkeeper to make the two mistakes that he did – it wasn’t the right script. Everything went against Liverpool.”
Liverpool FC completed their first signing of the summer transfer window on Sunday when they announced that they had agreed a deal with Monaco to sign Fabinho.
The Reds are likely to be linked with a number of other players this summer as Klopp looks to assemble a squad capable of winning the title next season.
