Mohamed Salah pays tribute to Jurgen Klopp following his sparkling form for Liverpool FC this term
Mohamed Salah has hailed Jurgen Klopp for helping to get the best form out of him at Liverpool FC this season.
Salah has been one of European football’s top performing players this season since his move to Anfield from AS Roma last summer.
The 25-year-old has netted more than 40 goals in all competitions for the Merseyside outfit and was named as the Premier League player of the season over the weekend.
Salah has played an integral role in helping Liverpool FC to reach the Champions League final and set up a crunch showdown against Real Madrid in Kiev on 26 May.
And the Egypt international has paid tribute to Klopp for the strong impact he has had on his career in just one season of working together.
Speaking to Liverpool FC’s website, former Chelsea FC star Salah said: “Before everything, we are friends, I like him a lot.
“He has helped me a lot to do what I’m doing now, on the field and off it, I have to thank him for everything he has done this year.
“But [there are] still two games, we have to think about that.
“I really, really respect him a lot and I’m sure we are going to do something special for the club this year.”
Salah and his Liverpool FC team-mates will now turn their attentions towards preparing for their Champions League final showdown in just under two weeks’ time.
The Reds, who won the Champions League back in 2005, are still looking to win their first trophy under Klopp since his appointment at Anfield as Brendan Rodgers’ permanent successor in the autumn of 2015.
