Rafael Benitez states his prediction for Liverpool FC v Real Madrid
Rafael Benitez feels that Liverpool FC have what it takes to beat Real Madrid in the Champions League final
Rafael Benitez is convinced that Liverpool FC have what it takes to beat Real Madrid in the Champions League final on Saturday night.
The Reds head into the game having earned huge amounts of praise for their performances en route to the final, with the Merseyside outfit having beaten the likes of Manchester City, AS Roma and FC Porto this season.
Benitez famously led Liverpool FC to their most recent Champions League triumph in 2005, when they came from three goals down to beat AC Milan in the final.
Real Madrid will be the favourites to claim victory on Saturday given that they have won the competition for the last two seasons running.
But former Liverpool FC manager Benitez seems to be confident that Jurgen Klopp’s men have what it takes to beat the Spanish giants and claim the trophy on Saturday night in Kiev.
Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports, Benitez said: “Real Madrid has the experience and the quality to match them but Liverpool can do it.
“They have the intensity and the quality, the passion, the desire.”
Liverpool FC head into the game after having secured a top-four finish in the Premier League this season.
The Reds are still aiming to win their first trophy under Klopp following the German’s appointment as the club’s manager back in October 2015.
