Jurgen Klopp states honest prediction for Liverpool FC v Real Madrid
Jurgen Klopp admits Liverpool FC are the underdogs against Real Madrid in the Champions League final
Jurgen Klopp has openly admitted that Real Madrid are the heavy favourites to beat his Liverpool FC team in the Champions League final next weekend.
The Reds are preparing to take on the Spanish giants in Kiev on Saturday night as they look to finish their campaign in the best possible fashion.
Liverpool FC have been earning plenty of praise for their strong performances in the Champions League this season, with the Reds having beaten the likes of Manchester City, AS Roma and FC Porto on their way to the final.
Real Madrid are the bookmakers’ favourites to win the title on Saturday, with the Spanish giants having lifted the trophy for the last two seasons running.
And Klopp has admitted that his Liverpool FC side are going to be the underdogs when they take on Real Madrid this weekend.
Speaking to Liverpool FC’s website, Klopp said: “There have been three dominant clubs in the last few years – Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern.
“We face one of them in the final so who should be the favourite? I have no problem with the situation. It’s not that I want to be the underdog, I don’t feel like an underdog.
“But, yes, they are favourites, they know everything, they could write the script for the final because they have experienced it four times in the last five years. We can’t but no problem with that. We want to play and win a football game.”
Liverpool FC finished in fourth place in the Premier League table this season as they booked their place in the Champions League for next term.
The Reds are still aiming to win their first trophy under Klopp following his appointment as Brendan Rodgers’ successor at Anfield back in October 2015.
