Virgil van Dijk has insisted that Liverpool FC are full of confidence as they prepare for their Champions League final showdown against Real Madrid this month.

The Reds are set to take on the Spanish giants in Kiev on Saturday 26 May as they bid to end the campaign by winning a major trophy.

Liverpool FC secured their place in the top four for this season by claiming a 4-0 win over Brighton at Anfield in their final Premier League game of the campaign on Sunday.

The Merseyside outfit now have more than a week to prepare for their crunch showdown against holders Real Madrid later this month.

And Van Dijk has insisted that the Reds are full of confidence as they prepare to take on the Spanish giants at the end of the month.

Speaking to Liverpool FC’s website, January signing Van Dijk said: “It has been a great season for Liverpool and hopefully we can finish it off in Kiev.

“We’re going to prepare very well. It’s going to be a tough game – we know they have so much quality. But we don’t need to forget that we have so much quality as well.

“We need to be going to Kiev with a lot of confidence. We’re not there for no reason. We deserve to be there, so we need to show that, be brave and do our thing. Then we’ll see what’s going to happen.”

Liverpool FC are still aiming to win their first trophy since Jurgen Klopp’s appointment at Anfield back in the autumn of 2015.

The Reds have been earning huge amounts of praise for their strong displays this season but they are still seeking to claim their first piece of silverware under their German manager.
