The Sun, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the Portuguese assistant is one of the names on Arsenal’s 14-man shortlist to replace Arsene Wenger at The Emirates this summer.
The Gunners are on the lookout for a new manager this summer after Wenger confirmed last week that he is going to end his 22-year stint at the north London club at the end of the season.
Faria has been part of Jose Mourinho’s backroom staff since 2001 and he was promoted to his number two back in 2003 after initially starting as a fitness coach.
According to the same story, Faria is keen to forge a career in management and would be keen to speak to Arsenal about the possibility of replacing Wenger at The Emirates.
Arsenal are yet to make any official comment on who could be set to replace Wenger at the club.
The Gunners are first trying to book their place in the Champions League for next season by winning the Europa League this term.
Arsenal will take on Atletico Madrid in the return leg of their semi-final clash on Thursday night.
