Pat Nevin delivers blunt verdict on Alexis Sanchez at Man United
The Chelsea FC legend reflects on Alexis Sanchez's spell at Manchester United so far
Pat Nevin has delivered his damning verdict on Manchester United signing Alexis Sanchez.
The Red Devils signed Sanchez in a swap deal from Arsenal in the January transfer window to bolster their attacking options.
However, Sanchez has struggled to adapt to the Premier League giants following his lucrative move to the 20-time English champions.
The South American became the club best paid player ahead of Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku after his January switch.
Sanchez has only scored three times and has made a mere three assists in 17 games in all competitions since his move to Manchester United.
The 29-year-old was muted during Manchester United’s 1-0 oss to Chelsea FC in the FA Cup final at Wembley last weekend.
Former Chelsea FC star Nevin believes the Red Devils signing has been a huge disappointment in the second half of the 2017-18 season.
“He has given Sanchez a chance and he has stunk out the building,” Nevin told BBC Radio 5 Live.
Sanchez won two FA Cup titles in three seasons at Arsenal following his move to the Gunners from FC Barcelona in the 2014 summer transfer window.
The Red Devils finished in second place in the Premier League table this season but ended up 19 points adrift of Premier League champions Manchester City.
