The Manchester United star was bitterly disappointed to lose to Chelsea FC in the FA Cup final at Wembley
Jesse Lingard admitted losing the FA Cup final was his worst moment in football after Chelsea FC were 1-0 winners against Manchester United at Wembley.
The England international started the FA Cup showpiece alongside Alexis Sanchez and Marcus Rashford in an attacking trio but Lingard was unable to make the breakthrough.
The 23-year-old has a great record of scoring in finals after he netted in a 2-1 win against Crystal Palace in the FA Cup showpiece in 2015 before Lingard scored in a 3-2 victory over Southampton in the EFL Cup final last season.
Lingard came off after 73 minutes but Manchester United were unable to find an equaliser after Belgium international Eden Hazard scored a first-half winner from the penalty spot to win the FA Cup.
Manchester United finished the season without a trophy following their narrow loss in the FA Cup showpiece after the Red Devils ended up in second place in the table.
Lingard couldn’t hide his disappointment on his Instagram page following their FA Cup disappointment.
“Dont know what to say, worst feeling i’ve felt in football to date , we didnt deserve to lose but thats football. The fans have been amazing all season they have stuck by us through the ups and downs and i can only say thank you. Quick turn around for the world cup so looking forward to meeting up with the boys and doing the best we can in the tournament 👊🏾 JLingz Out! ✌🏾”
Lingard could be set for more heartbreak when England play in the World Cup in Russia this summer.
The England star became a key member of the Manchester United under Mourinho this term following 13 goals and five assists in 46 games in all competitions this term.
