Jose Mourinho warned 25-year-old isn’t happy at Man United
Shaka Hislop doesn't believe Paul Pogba isn't happy at Manchester United
Paul Pogba isn’t happy playing at Manchester United under Jose Mourinho, Shaka Hislop has claimed.
The France international struggled to find his consistency in the 2017-18 Premier League season following an injury-hit campaign.
The Manchester United record signing made an exciting start to the season with two goals and two assists in their opening four games.
However, Pogba suffered a serious hamstring problem in September to keep the France star sidelined until November.
Mourinho was critical of Pogba’s performances in midfield alongside Nemanja Matic in the second half of the Premier League campaign.
The Manchester United manager’s public criticism of Pogba prompted transfer speculation surrounding the club’s prized asset.
Pogba, though, produced a man of the match performance with two goals in a 3-2 win at Manchester City in the derby.
Former West Ham goalkeeper Hislop doesn’t believe Pogba is enjoying his football under the Portuguese head coach.
“There is nothing about Pogba or his body language that makes you think he is happy playing under Mourinho,” Hislop told ESPN FC.
“When he played for Juventus or France, there was a smile on his face. He was enjoying playing the game. He doesn’t seem to be right now.”
Manchester United re-signed Pogba in an £89m deal from Serie A giants Juventus in the 2016 summer transfer window.
Sir Alex Ferguson oversaw the sale of Pogba to Juventus in an £800,000 deal in 2012.
