Man United confident 25-year-old will be ready to face Chelsea FC in FA Cup final – report
Manchester United are hoping Romelu Lukaku will be ready to face Chelsea FC in the FA Cup final, according to a report
Manchester United are optimistic that Romelu Lukaku will recover from an injury setback to face Chelsea FC in the FA Cup final at Wembley, according to a report in England.
The Guardian, as quoted by the Metro, is reporting that the Red Devils are hopeful that the 25-year-old can bounce back from his injury in the 50th minute of their 2-1 win against Arsenal at Old Trafford last weekend.
Manchester United’s leading goal-scorer suffered an ankle problem during the Premier League clash to cast doubt on his potential participation in the FA Cup final at Wembley later this month.
The Red Devils sent the powerful forward for a scan on Monday and the results appear to suggest that the Belgian star will be able to return for the FA Cup showpiece against his former club.
Lukaku has scored 26 goals and has made seven assists in 43 games in all competitions following his £75m move to Manchester United from Everton last summer, even though Chelsea FC wanted to re-sign the striker.
Manchester United are looking to win their second FA Cup in three seasons but first since Jose Mourinho took over the reins from Louis van Gaal back in May 2016.
The Red Devils are in second place in the Premier League table.
