Man United close to €50m deal for first summer signing – report
Man United are closing in on the signing of Alex Sandro from Juventus this summer, say reports
Manchester United are on the verge of finalising a deal to sign Alex Sandro from Juventus this summer, according to reports in Italy.
Italian newspaper La Stampa, as quoted by Football Italia, is reporting that official confirmation of the 27-year-old left-back’s transfer to Old Trafford could be made in the coming days.
However, an announcement is not expected to be made before Manchester United take on Chelsea FC in the FA Cup final at Wembley on Saturday evening.
The same story says that the deal will also see Matteo Darmian move to Juventus in the opposite direction.
Sandro has long been linked with a move to the Premier League and he was heavily touted as a target for Chelsea FC last summer – but a move to Stamford Bridge failed to materialise.
Manchester United are likely to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as the Red Devils look to try and assemble a squad capable of winning the title next season.
The Red Devils ended up in second place this term in what was their highest finish since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement back in 2013.
They will now look to end the season on a high by beating Chelsea FC in the FA Cup final at Wembley.
