Craig Bellamy predicts where Man United will finish next season
Craig Bellamy feels that Manchester United are unlikely to win the Premier League title next season
Craig Bellamy believes that Manchester United are unlikely to win the Premier League next season even if they spend big this summer.
The Red Devils came up short in the Premier League title race this season as they ended up in second place in the table behind runaway champions Manchester City.
Jose Mourinho has been tasked with steering Manchester United to their first Premier League title since Sir Alex Ferguson’s final campaign in charge back in 2013.
Manchester United are likely to spend big this summer as they look to build a squad capable of challenging Manchester City next season.
However, former Wales international Bellamy feels that the Red Devils are still a considerable way off a genuine title challenge, even if they do spend big this summer.
Speaking on The Debate on Sky Sports, Bellamy said: “Man United aren’t anywhere near competing with Man City even if they spend a lot of money in the summer.”
Manchester United won both the League Cup and Europa League in Mourinho’s first campaign in charge at Old Trafford last season.
The Red Devils are bound to be linked with a host of players this summer as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of Mourinho’s third season in charge at Old Trafford.
They ended up 19 points behind Manchester City in the table this season.
