Man United ready to pay £44m for first summer signing – report
Manchester United are ready to pay £44m to sign Elseid Hysaj from Napoli this summer, say reports
Manchester United are ready to pay the £44m release clause to sign defender Elseid Hysaj from Napoli this summer, according to reports in the British media.
The Sun is reporting that the Red Devils have made signing a new right-back one of their top priorities in the summer transfer window, with Matteo Darmian’s long-term future at the club in doubt.
According to the same story, Italian defender Darmian is almost certain to sign for Juventus this summer, and Manchester United have identified Hysaj as a replacement.
Manchester United could be set to make a move to sign Hysaj due to his relatively low release clause of just £44m.
The 24-year-old Albania international has been in good form this season and has made one assist in 34 Serie A games for Napoli.
Manchester United are likely to be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks and months as the Red Devils look to try and assemble a squad capable of winning the Premier League title next season.
Before that, Manchester United will look to end the season on a high by beating Chelsea FC in the FA Cup final at Wembley on Saturday evening as they aim to win their third major trophy under Jose Mourinho.
