Frank Lampard has lavished praise on Jesse Lingard following his impressive form for Manchester United this season.
It has been something of a breakthrough season for the England international at Old Trafford after he seemingly won the trust of Jose Mourinho at the club.
Lingard was a regular fixture in the first team at Old Trafford, starting 20 of Manchester United’s 38 Premier League games and notching up eight goals and five assists in the top flight.
The 25-year-old stepped his game up for the Red Devils this season and was widely praised for his improved displays for the Manchester club.
And former Chelsea FC star Lampard has been very impressed by what he has seen from Lingard this season in Mourinho’s second campaign in charge of the Red Devils.
Speaking to BT Sport, Lampard said: “I really like him. I think his game’s improved so much.
“What I like about him is his game intelligence. You never see him linger on the ball when he doesn’t need to. He has the right amount of touches and knows when to arrive in the box at the right time.
“Players like that are priceless because if he’s bringing you double figures, can link up play and work hard for you – that’s why he plays regularly for them now.”
Meanwhile, Manchester United ended the season in disappointing fashion as they slipped to a 1-0 loss to Chelsea FC in the FA Cup final at Wembley on Saturday afternoon.
The Red Devils will now turn their attentions towards the summer transfer window and the players they could look to bring in as they bid to strengthen their squad and build a team capable of winning the title next season.
