Fred has revealed that he will not make a decision about his future until after the World Cup, as he continues to be linked with a move to Manchester United.

The Red Devils have been heavily linked with a move to sign the Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder in recent days as Jose Mourinho looks to bolster his squad ahead of his third season in charge.

Manchester City have also been credited with an interest in signing the Brazil international this summer, but the player himself has now said that he plans to delay any decision about his future until after his involvement in the World Cup in Russia.

Fred is quoted as saying by Metro: “Maybe after the World Cup I will make the choice. Now I am only thinking about the World Cup.”

Manchester United are likely to be linked with a number of midfielders this summer as Mourinho aims to bolster his squad ahead of next season.

The Red Devils are preparing for life without Michael Carrick following his retirement, and Marouane Fellaini’s future still remains up in the air.

Manchester United secured their highest finish in the Premier League since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement this season, but they still ended Mourinho’s second campaign in charge without a trophy.

The Red Devils won both the Europa League and League Cup last term.
