Jamie Redknapp has urged Manchester United to make a deal to sign Gareth Bale from Real Madrid this summer.

The Red Devils are bound to be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks and months as Jose Mourinho looks to add to his squad and assemble a team capable of challenging Manchester City’s dominance at the top of the table.

Bale has struggled for form and fitness at Real Madrid in recent months and his future at the Spanish club has been thrown into doubt as a result.

Manchester United could well be on the lookout for reinforcements up front this summer and former Liverpool FC midfielder Redknapp feels that Bale is the right man to help the Red Devils catch up with Manchester City next season.

Writing in his column for the Daily Mail, Redknapp said: “They finished second and could win the FA Cup but let’s face it… this is one of the most boring United teams.

“They signed off the league season with a 1-0 win over Watford that was shown last on Match of the Day.

“If Jose Mourinho wants to change that, he should go and buy Gareth Bale. He has won it all at Real Madrid and won’t be fazed by the Premier League.”

Meanwhile, Manchester United are currently preparing for their crunch FA Cup final showdown against Chelsea FC at Wembley on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Devils finished as runners-up to Manchester City in the Premier League table and are now looking to end the season with a trophy.

Manchester United will look to win the Premier League title for the first time since 2013 next season.
