Ander Herrera raves about Man United star ahead of FA Cup final
Ander Herrera explains why he is such a big fan of Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea
Ander Herrera has lavished praise on David De Gea following his sparkling performances for Manchester United this season.
The Spanish goalkeeper has been earning huge amounts of praise for his strong displays for Jose Mourinho’s men this term as he helped the Red Devils to finish in second place in the Premier League table.
De Gea is widely regarded as one of world football’s top shot-stoppers and he has been a key part of Manchester United’s strong defensive displays this season.
And his Spanish team-mate Herrera feels that De Gea is clearly the best goalkeeper in world football on his current form.
Speaking in an interview with Graham Hunter, Herrera said: “For me, David is the best by far. I think he has something that comes from god.
“God chose him in the goal and god chose Lionel Messi on the pitch.
“You cannot train what he did against Liverpool [at Anfield]. You cannot train what he did against Kun Aguero when he was two metres in front of him and he put the hand out, you cannot train it.
“You can train when he receives the ball from the left defender and he passes the ball to Antonio Valencia perfect.
“You can see when he receives the ball he knows always what to do. He has some special abilities that I think he hasn’t trained them, because you cannot train them, you just have them.”
Both of the Spaniards will be hoping to feature for Manchester United when they take on Chelsea FC in the FA Cup final at Wembley on Saturday afternoon.
The Red Devils head into the game fresh from having secured their spot as runners-up to Manchester City in the Premier League.
Manchester United are now looking to end the season on a positive note by winning the final piece of domestic silverware on offer.
Most Manchester United fans will be expecting to see their team challenge for the Premier League title next season as they bid to win it for the first time since 2013.
