Manchester United have cooled their interest in signing Jorginho from Napoli this summer, allowing Manchester City a free run on the midfielder, according to reports in the British media.
The Manchester Evening News is reporting that the Red Devils have opted not to step up their pursuit of the Napoli midfielder ahead of the summer transfer window.
The story also claims that Manchester City are now the front-runners to sign the Brazil-born Italy international ahead of next season.

The article also claims that Mourinho has drawn up a fresh shortlist of midfield targets this summer, with the Red Devils having reportedly monitored Fred, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Marco Verratti, Jean-Michael Seri and Arturo Vidal in recent months.
The same story also says that Manchester United could make two midfield signings this summer, with Michael Carrick set to retire at the end of the season and Marouane Fellaini’s long-term future at Old Trafford still in doubt.
