Jose Mourinho hits back at Gary Neville about Man United youngster
Jose Mourinho was clearly unimpressed by Gary Neville's recent comments about the Man United star
Jose Mourinho has aimed a thinly veiled dig at Gary Neville after the pundit questioned whether Scott McTominay was good enough for Manchester United.
McTominay has broken into the first team at Old Trafford this season after having clearly impressed his manager with his mature performances.
The 21-year-old Scot made 13 Premier League appearances for Mourinho’s men and earned plenty of praise for his solid displays.
However, former Manchester United defender Neville is clearly not convinced that the midfielder will prove himself as being good enough for the Red Devils.
And Mourinho aimed a dig at the former Manchester United full-back after the Red Devils’ 1-0 win over Watford at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Speaking at his post-match news conference, Mourinho said: “If you want to be negative, you can be negative until the point that you can say that Scott McTominay is not good enough.”
Manchester United will now turn their attentions towards ending the season on a high by beating Chelsea FC in the FA Cup final at Wembley on Saturday evening.
The Red Devils finished as runners-up to Manchester United in the Premier League and will be hoping to challenge for the Premier League title next season.
Manchester United have not won the Premier League title since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in the summer of 2013.
