Man United to face competition from two clubs for signature of 20-year-old – report
Manchester United are set to face competition from Tottenham and Bournemouth to sign Kieran Tierney this summer, say reports
Manchester United are poised to face competition from Tottenham Hotspur and Bournemouth for the signature of Kieran Tierney this summer, according to reports in the British media.
The Sun is reporting that Bournemouth have joined the race to sign the 20-year-old defender as the competition for his signature ahead of the summer transfer window hots up.
The same report says that Tierney is a long-term target of both Manchester United and Tottenham as the Premier League sides look to strengthen their defences this summer.
However, the story also claims that Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe believes that he will be able to tempt Tierney to join the Cherries with the promise of regular first-team football.
Tierney’s future has been a source of speculation in recent months following his solid performances for Celtic this season.
The defender has scored three goals in 30 SPL appearances for Celtic so far this term and has been earning plenty of praise for his solid displays.
Manchester United are likely to be on the lookout for defensive signings this summer as Jose Mourinho looks to try and assemble a team capable of winning the Premier League next season.
The Red Devils are currently in second place as they look to finish as runners-up to Manchester City.
