Olivier Giroud has described Paul Pogba as a “special personality” and is backing the midfielder to come good at Manchester United.

Pogba is widely regarded as one of the most talented midfielders in the Premier League and he has been attracting plenty of headlines since his big-money transfer back to Old Trafford from Juventus in the summer of 2016.

However, the midfielder has regularly been accused of not producing consistent form at Old Trafford since his move to the club in 2016.

The midfielder started this season strongly but has struggled to maintain top performances throughout the campaign.

But Giroud, who knows Pogba well from their roles in the French national team, feels that the midfielder has all of the necessary ingredients to be a big success at Old Trafford.

Giroud is quoted as saying by Metro: “Paul is a special personality. He’s very committed on the pitch, he is passionate.

“He is a very good player and he has shown it. ‘Has the Premier League seen the best of him? Paul is still young and there is a lot of expectation around him because he has a lot of talent.”

Meanwhile, Manchester United are likely to be linked with a host of new players this summer as they look to assemble a squad capable of winning the title next season.

The Red Devils have not lifted the top flight trophy since their famous final triumph under Sir Alex Ferguson in the 2012-13 season.

Jose Mourinho was brought in as Louis van Gaal’s permanent successor back in 2016.
