Jose Mourinho delivers latest update on Paul Pogba’s Man United future
Jose Mourinho delivers the latest news on Paul Pogba's situation at Manchester United this season
Jose Mourinho has insisted that he is expecting to see Paul Pogba remain at Manchester United beyond the summer transfer window.
The midfielder’s future has been something of a source of speculation in recent months after a mixed season for the France international.
Pogba has struggled to produce consistent performances for the Red Devils despite having impressed in the early stages of the campaign.
His lack of consistency has prompted talk that Pogba could be on his way out of Manchester United this summer, just two years after he re-signed for the Red Devils from Juventus.
However, Mourinho has underlined his belief that Pogba will remain as a Manchester United player beyond the end of the season despite the speculation.
Speaking at a news conference on Wednesday, Mourinho said: “I think he’s going to be here next season. That’s my feeling.
“I can give the guarantee that I don’t want him (Pogba) to leave, that the club doesn’t want to sell him and I can give you the guarantee that we don’t have any approach from him or his agent or from any club.
“In this moment for me, he’s staying, yes.”
Manchester United will take on Watford in their final Premier League game of the season on Sunday, before they switch their attentions to their FA Cup final clash against Chelsea FC at Wembley at the end of the month as they aim to try and finish the campaign with a trophy.
Manchester United are aiming to finish in second place in the Premier League this season as runners-up to Manchester City.
