Bryan Robson has admitted that Ander Herrera is likely to be a key player for Manchester United when the Red Devils take on Chelsea FC in the FA Cup final on Saturday evening.

The Red Devils are preparing to take on the Blues at Wembley this weekend as they look to end the season on a positive note by beating the west London side to lift the trophy.

Manchester United wrapped up a second placed finish in the Premier League last weekend as they secured their highest position in the table since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement back in 2013.

Jose Mourinho’s men have now turned their attentions towards getting ready for the FA Cup showdown against Chelsea FC as they look to end the campaign on a high by lifting a trophy.

Herrera has been tasked with man marking Eden Hazard in recent clashes against Chelsea FC, and former Manchester United star Robson feels that the Spanish midfielder could be given the same role again.

Speaking to Manchester United’s website, Robson said: “I think Ander Herrera could be important if he gets a marking role from the manager but I wouldn’t say he’s going to be the most important player.

Manchester United are bound to be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks and months as Mourinho looks to build a team capable of winning the Premier League title next season.

The Red Devils have not lifted the top flight trophy since their famous final triumph under Ferguson in 2013.
