Craig Bellamy has admitted that Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey needs a change of scene amid talks of interest from Manchester United.

The Wales international has little over 12 months remaining on his current Arsenal deal to open up the possibility of the midfielder making a free transfer next summer.

Ramsey has been one of Arsenal’s more consistent players in an otherwise disappointing Premier League campaign for the north London outfit.

The 27-year-old has scored seven goals and has made eight assists in 24 games in the Premier League to attract interest from a number of top European clubs.

Ramsey was linked with a potential move to Manchester United in recent weeks as Jose Mourinho looks to improve his options in the middle of the park.

The Wales international could follow in the footsteps of Alexis Sanchez who moved to Manchester United from Arsenal in a swap deal back in the January transfer window.

Former Liverpool FC striker Bellamy believes Ramsey needs a change to get back to his best following a difficult spell at Arsenal.

“Ramsey is better than what he has been showing over the past two seasons,” Bellamy told Sky Sports. “He needs a change.”

Ramsey moved to Arsenal from Cardiff City in 2008 after he snubbed a potential switch to Manchester United in favour of a switch to the Gunners.
