Manchester United are set to make signing Juventus defender Alex Sandro their priority in the summer transfer window, according to a report in England.

Manchester Evening News is reporting that the Red Devils are hoping to complete a swoop for long-term Chelsea FC target Sandro at the end of the 2017-18 season.

The same article states that Jose Mourinho has ended his interest in England and Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Manchester United manager is also prepared to miss out on Celtic’s exciting Scotland international Kieran Tierney despite interest from other Premier League clubs.

According to the same story, the Portuguese head coach has idenitified signing Sandro as Manchester United’s priority in the upcoming transfer window.

Luke Shaw is facing an uncertain future at the Red Devils after failing to convince Mourinho of his ability to remain fit and produce consistent performances.

The former Southampton defender has struggled since recovering from a double leg break in Manchester United’s 2-1 loss to PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League in 2015.

The Red Devils have relied upon England veteran Ashley Young in a left-back role throughout the current campaign.

Manchester United haven’t won the Premier League title since 2013.
