Manchester United have drawn up a three-man shortlist of the midfielders they want to sign this summer, according to reports in the British media.
Metro is reporting that the Red Devils have set their sights on signing Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred, Lazio man Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Napoli star Jorginho this summer.
The same story says that Jose Mourinho has asked the retiring Michael Carrick to cast an eye on Manchester United’s midfield targets ahead of the summer transfer window.
The report says that Mourinho is keen to gather Carrick’s feedback on the potential midfield signings this summer as the Portuguese coach looks to strengthen his squad this summer.
Manchester United are bound to be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks and months as Mourinho aims to assemble a squad capable of winning the Premier League title next season.
The Red Devils can still end the season on a high by beating Chelsea FC in the FA Cup final at the end of the month, as they also close in on a second-placed finish in the Premier League.
Manchester United will take on West Ham in their penultimate Premier League game of the season on Thursday night.
