Man United set to enter £50m battle with Man City for Brazilian star – report
Manchester United are ready to outbid Manchester City for Brazilian star Fred, according to a report in England
Manchester United and Manchester City are set to battle it out for the signature of Shakhtar Donetsk star Fred, according to a report in England.
The Daily Mail is reporting that the Red Devils are prepared to rival Premier League champions Manchester City for £50m-rated Fred in the 2018 summer transfer window.
The same article states that Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola singled out Fred as a potential signing back in January but was put off by Shakhtar’s asking price.
According to the same story, Manchester United are willing to prove their financial mite with a superior offer for the Brazil international.
Fred scored one goal and made one assist in eight appearances in the Champions League this season to earn interest from the Premier League ahead of the 2018-19 top flight campaign.
The Shakthar star’s agent Gilberto, who is a former Arsenal star, admitted earlier this year that his client is open to a move to English football in the 2018 summer transfer window.
Manchester United are likely to be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks and months as Jose Mourinho looks to assemble a squad capable of challenging Manchester City’s dominance at the top of the table next season.
