Manchester United are facing competition from Atletico Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur to sign Celtic defender Kieran Tierney, according to a report.

The Sun is reporting that Atletico have entered the race to sign the Scotland international ahead of the 2018 summer transfer window.

The same article states that Tottenham Hotspur have also shown an interest in the 20-year-old defender following another impressive campaign for the full-back.

According to the same story, Tierney is already one of Celtic’s top earner to underline his rising status at the Scottish Premier League champions.

Manchester United have been regularly linked with a swoop for the Scottish defender to improve Jose Mourinho’s options at left-back ahead of the 2018-19 season.

Tierney has scored four goals and has made one assist in 47 appearances in all competitions last season.

The Scottish defender has made nine appearances for the national team despite his relative inexperience at the top level.

Tierney has netted nine times in 127 games in all competitions since his breaking into the Celtic team in 2015.

The Celtic starlet has also got vital Champions League experience under his belt and has made a total of 27 appearances in Uefa competitions in his fledgling career so far.
