Man United urged to sign 20-year-old Scottish talent
Pat Nevin urges Man United to try and sign Kieran Tierney from Celtic this summer
Pat Nevin has urged Manchester United to make a move to sign Kieran Tierney from Celtic this summer.
The Red Devils are bound to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as they look to try and build a squad capable of winning the Premier League title next season.
Manchester United ended up as runners-up to Manchester City in the Premier League this season and missed out on a trophy in Jose Mourinho’s second campaign in charge after they were beaten by Chelsea FC in the FA Cup final.
Tierney has been touted as a possible target for the Red Devils in recent months as Mourinho looks to bolster his defensive options ahead of next season.
The speculation has come amid the uncertainty about Luke Shaw’s future at Manchester United following his lack of playing time this season.
And Chelsea FC legend Nevin believes that Tierney would be a great signing for Manchester United this summer.
Speaking to Irish radio station Newstalk, Nevin said: “[Andy] Robertson is the second best left-back in Scotland. Man United might look at getting the best left-back in Scotland.
“He would walk into any team. It’s Kieran Tierney.”
Manchester United have not won the Premier League title since Sir Alex Ferguson’s final campaign in charge at the club back in 2013.
The Red Devils’ second placed finish this term was their highest since then.
