Manchester United are leading Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, according to a report in Spain.

Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo, as quoted by The Sun, is reporting that Manchester United are interested in a potential deal to sign Milinkovic-Savic despite Lazio placing an £89m price tag on the playmaker.

The same article states that Manchester United will face a lot of competition for the Serbia international as Serie A champions Juventus continue to monitor the Lazio midfielder.

In addition, Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur are all keeping tabs on the Lazio star, while the 23-year-old has also been linked with a potential switch to Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain.

According to the same story, Premier League duo Manchester United and Tottenham have concrete interest in Milinkovic-Savic whose agent is former Chelsea FC and PSV Eindhoven striker Mateja Kezman.

The Serbian star has scored 11 goals and has made three assists in 32 games in Serie A this season to help Lazio challenge for a top-four finish in the Italian top flight this term.

Milinkovic-Savic has also netted two goals and made three assists in six Europa League outings to help the Italian club reach the quarter-finals.
