Unai Emery believes that he has inherited a very talented squad at Arsenal.

The Spaniard was confirmed as Arsenal’s new manager on Wednesday as the Gunners settled on the former Paris Saint-Germain boss as the right man to succeed Arsene Wenger at The Emirates.

Emery has been tasked with steering Arsenal back into the Champions League places for next season after the Gunners ended up in a disappointing sixth place in the Premier League this term.

Arsenal have spent big in recent transfer windows by signing the likes of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

And Emery seems to be pleased with the talent at his disposal at The Emirates following his appointment as the club’s new manager this week.

Speaking at his first news conference as Arsenal manager, Emery said on Wednesday: “I love the talent and I think this team are a talented squad.

“I think, when you are talented, you need to work with that talent and find a great performance with the talent and with the work.”

Arsenal have not won the Premier League title since their famous unbeaten triumph in the 2003-04 campaign.

The north London side have also missed out on Champions League qualification for the last two seasons running under Wenger, despite having won the FA Cup three times in recent years.

Arsenal will be linked with a host of players this summer as they look to assemble a squad capable of winning the title next term.
