Michael Owen is backing Manchester United to return to winning ways against West Ham United at the London Stadium on Thursday night.

The Red Devils suffered a surprise 1-0 loss to Brighton and Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium on Friday night.

Manchester United have already secured a second-placed finish in the Premier League this season ahead of Liverpool FC and Tottenham Hotspur.

The Red Devils are 17 points adrift of Premier League champions Manchester City to underline the massive gap between the two derby rivals.

Manchester United have lost five times on the road in the Premier League this season following their surprise defeat at Brighton.

Former Liverpool FC striker Owen is backing the Red Devils to beat West Ham at the London Stadium to warm up for the FA Cup final.

“Jose Mourinho was disappointed with his players after their loss against Brighton on Friday and I expect to see a much-improved showing from United at the London Stadium,” Owen told BetVictor.

“Davis Moyes has never beaten Jose Mourinho in a PL game in ten previous attempts and I cannot see the Hammers beating the FA Cup Finalists despite a fine win at Leicester at the weekend.

“The Irons have not won back-to-back in the league since last January and I just see them coming up short in what promises to be an entertaining game with chances at both ends.”

Manchester United will take on Chelsea FC in the FA Cup final at Wembley later this month following a 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur in the last four.

The Red Devils are looking to win their third major trophy since Jose Mourinho took over the reins from Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford.

Manchester United won the Europa League and the League Cup in their first season under Mourinho.
