Jurgen Klopp quiet on Zeljko Buvac amid Arsenal reports
Jurgen Klopp refuses to give details about Zeljko Buvac's situation with Liverpool FC
Jurgen Klopp refused to be drawn on the speculation linking Liverpool FC assistant boss Zeljko Buvac with the Arsenal manager’s job.
Buvac has been Klopp’s right-hand man since his time in charge at German side Mainz but Liverpool FC confirmed this week that he has temporarily left his role at Anfield due to “personal reasons”.
Speculation about his situation has been rife in recent days and there have even been suggestions that Buvac could be being lined up to replace Arsene Wenger at Arsenal.
However, Klopp refused to go into detail about the situation regarding Buvac when quizzed about his right-hand man ahead of Liverpool FC’s clash with AS Roma in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Speaking at his pre-match news conference, Klopp said: “We gave a club statement to that, that’s all what we are saying at the moment, nothing else.”
Liverpool FC are now preparing for their crunch Premier League showdown against Chelsea FC at Anfield on Sunday afternoon as they look to try and cement a place in the top four this season.
Arsenal, meanwhile, are gearing up for their crunch clash against Atletico Madrid in the Europa League semi-finals on Thursday night as they look to reach the final and keep alive their hopes of qualifying for next season’s Champions League by winning the competition.
