The Red Devils are in the market to sign a new striker to further bolster Jose Mouriho’s attacking options at Old Trafford.
Martial has struggled to hold down a regular starting spot under the Portuguese head coach over the past two seasons.
The 22-year-old moved to Old Trafford in a £36m deal from Ligue 1 side Monaco in the 2015 summer transfer window.
The French forward flourished under Louis van Gaal after he scored 19 goals in all competitions in his debut season.
However, Mourinho has been reluctant to use Martial since taking over the reins from Van Gaal.
There is no shortage of suitors for the France star amid interest from Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur.
Martial’s agent Philippe Lamboley has confirmed that Martial is looking to move away from Manchester United this summer.
“After thinking about all the possibilities and scenarios, Anthony wants to leave Manchester United,” Lamboley told RMC Sport. “There are many scenarios. For now, it’s premature to talk about it. Anthony will speak later to explain all of this.
“Manchester United want to extend Anthony’s contract and do not want him to leave, but we have not been able to find an agreement for several months.
“I think that when Manchester United, which is the most powerful club in the world it must be remembered, do not find an agreement in eight months of negotiations, it is because they do not really want to make him an important member of the team. That’s the root of this decision. It is a well-considered decision.
“However, it is quite obvious and it is very important to remember that he is under contract, that Manchester United will have the last word and that we will respect the decision of the club, and he will fulfil his commitment to them.
“However, we do not share the same vision for Anthony’s future. Today, Anthony is disappointed because he has shown for three seasons the love he has for the club and its supporters.”
Manchester United finished in second place in the Premier League table last season to ensure their continued participation in the Champions League.
The 20-time English champions signed Chile international Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal in the January transfer window.
The Red Devils haven’t won the Premier League title since 2013 when Sir Alex Ferguson got his hands on his final top-flight crown.
