Arsenal and Liverpool FC are both interested in a potential deal to sign FC Porto defender Diogo Queiros, according to a report in Portugal.

Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manhã, as quoted by Sport Witness, is reporting that Arsenal have joined Liverpool FC in the race to sign the 19-year-old from FC Porto this summer.

The same article states that Liverpool FC and their Premier League rivals Bournemouth have been linked with the teenager over the past few weeks to fuel talk of a move to the Premier League.

According to the same story, Arsenal and Liverpool FC could be set to make “tempting offers” to sign the FC Porto talent in the 2018 summer transfer window.

Queiroz has been a regular for the Porto B team but the Portugal Under-19 international is still waiting to make his first senior appearance for the giants.

Arsenal and Liverpool FC are both in the market to improve their defences this summer.

The Reds finished in fourth place in the Premier League last term before a 3-1 loss to La Liga giants Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Kiev.

Arsenal, on the other hand, finished in sixth spot to prompt Arsene Wenger to stand down as manager after 22 seasons.
